Myrtle Beach, SC - The North Carolina Wesleyan golf squad traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Fairfield University Spring Invitational.  The 14-team tournament was held at the Crown Park Golf Club, a par-72 course that spans 6,502 yards.  Siena College earned top team honors, while host Fairfield took second.  The 14th-place Bishops were again led by Chris Crews (pictured), who finished tied for 46th out of the field of 79.

Siena shot a two-day 625 (308-317) to finish at 49-over par in the top spot.  SC was led by Brian Bigley, who took home medalist honors with rounds of 72 and 75 to finish three over par.

Crews led the Bishops with rounds of 86 an 82 for a two-day total of 168 (+24).  Also competing for Wesleyan were Daniel Chewning, Steve Lee, David Harris, and Adam Cooper.  As a team, NCWC shot a 353 and 363 for a two-day total of 716.

The Bishops will return to action on April 9th and 10th when they participate in the Shipbuilders Invitational hosted by Newport News Apprentice.  The two-day tournament will be held at the Ford's Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, VA.
