Stugis paces Wesleyan golfers at GEICO Intercollegiate

Savannah, GA - North Carolina Wesleyan's golf team competed in the GEICO Intercollegiate this weekend, earning a 15th place finish among 16 participants. The highly competitive field was comprised of Division I, II, and III institutions, and the three-round event was held at the par-72, 6,845 yard Hunter Golf Course in Savannah, GA. Freshman Ryan Stugis (pictured) paced the Bishops with rounds of 82, 77, and 78, which placed him 45th among 105 players. Host Ohio Wesleyan won the event with a three-day team total of 899.

Freshman Dylan Bedy turned in NCWC's low round of the tournament with a one-over 73 in the final round. The second round proved to be the Bishops' best team effort as they shot a 320.

Also competing for Wesleyan were Christopher Crews, Cole Brantner, and John Tappan.

Individually, Ferris State's Eric Lilleboe earned medalist honors with a three-day total of 216 to finish at even par (70-73-73).
