Bishop golfers cruise to
championship win at SU Invitational
Winchester,
VA
- After securing five of the top six
finishes among the 24-man field, North Carolina Wesleyan's
golf team cruised to a first place finish at this week's
Shenandoah Fall Invitational, marking the first championship
win for third-year head coach Mark Cole. The Battling
Bishops were led by freshman Kristoffer Idestal, who earned
medalist honors with rounds of 74 and 72 for a two-day total
of 146 (+2). As a team, NCWC turned in a two-day team score
of 601 to finish 46 strokes ahead of the runner-up Hornets.

The five squads finished in that order with the Bishops
carding the low team round with a 294 on Monday, the only
sub-300 round in the tourney.
Idestal's 72 on Tuesday
gave him a one-stroke win over SU's Josh Wiegand, who
recorded the low individual round with a 69 on Monday. The
Bishops had three players tie for third place with Adam
Coelho, Stefan Emmoth, and Jack Gilbert all finishing with
two-day totals of 152 (+8). Those three were followed by
