NCWC golfers wrap up fall
season at O'Briant Memorial Tourney

- North Carolina Wesleyan's golf
team wrapped up its 2009 fall season on Monday and Tuesday
at the Tom and Bettie O'Briant Memorial Tournament hosted by
Guilford College. The two-day event was held at the par-70
Cardinal Golf & Country Club in Greensboro and featured 90
golfers among 17 teams. The 21st-ranked Bishops rebounded
from a day one 336 to shoot 312 on day two to finish 13th
among the talented field. Freshman Kristoffer Idestal again
paced NCWC with rounds of 85 and 75 to finish 37th
individually.
Wesleyan's low round of the
tourney went to freshman Stefan Emmoth, who carded a day two
score of 73. Also competing was freshman Greg Hughes, who
finished tied for 47th with rounds of 82 and 81. Dane
Anderson and Adam Coelho rounded the Bishops' competitor's
with two day totals of 170 and 171, respectively.
Top-ranked Methodist
University grabbed first place team honors as the only squad
to break 600 with a two-day 589 (296-293). The Monarchs
boasted the top three finishers in the tourney with Trey
Howell and Josh Speight tying for medalist honors at
six-over par.

Having completed the fall portion of
their schedule, the Battling Bishops will now begin
preparing for their spring slate that kicks off in
February.
