second USA
South Rookie
of the Week
award.
Idestal's
selection
marks the
fourth week
this fall
that a
Battling
Bishop
player has
won the
league's
weekly
honor.
He was
chosen after
his solid
performance
at this
week's Tom &
Bettie
O'Briant
Memorial
Tournament
hosted by
Guilford
College
at the
Cardinal
Golf &
Country Club.

fall season at O'Briant Memorial Tourney

- North Carolina Wesleyan's golf team
wrapped up its 2009 fall season on Monday and Tuesday at the
Tom and Bettie O'Briant Memorial Tournament hosted by
Guilford College. The two-day event was held at the par-70
Cardinal Golf & Country Club in Greensboro and featured 90
golfers among 17 teams. The 21st-ranked Bishops rebounded
from a day one 336 to shoot 312 on day two.

World / Nike Golf D-III Coaches Top-25

- The second Golf World/Nike Golf
Division III Coaches’ Poll of the fall season has been
released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine,
Nike Golf, and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
North Carolina Wesleyan and head coach Mark Cole are pleased
to announce that the Battling Bishops were tabbed #21 in the
nation, marking the first such ranking in program history.

Fall
Invitational
where he
carded
rounds of 74
and 72 to
finish in
first place
at two-over
par.

Bishop golfers cruise to
championship win at SU Invitational
Winchester,
VA
- After securing five of the top six
finishes among the 24-man field, NC
Wesleyan's golf team cruised to a first place finish at this
week's Shenandoah Fall Invitational, marking the first
championship win for third-year head coach Mark Cole. The
Bishops were led by Kristoffer Idestal, who earned medalist
honors with rounds of 74 and 72 for a two-day total of 146
(+2). As a team, NCWC turned in a two-day team score of 601
to finish 46 strokes ahead of the runner-up Hornets.
