Coleman nets 15 to lead USA South to Senior Challenge
victory
Winchester,
VA - North
Carolina Wesleyan's Adam Coleman scored 15 points and pulled
down five rebounds to help lead the USA South Athletic
Conference to its first USAC/ODAC Senior Challenge victory
in the four-year history of the contest. This year's game
was hosted by Hampden-Sydney College and saw the USA South
seniors earn a thrilling 88-87 win in overtime.
Coleman (pictured), who also dished out three assists and
blocked two shots, recorded his second steal of the game
with three ticks remaining to prevent the ODAC from getting
off a potential gamewinning shot.
In addition to
Coleman's performance, CNU's Thomas Whinnett contributed 16
points and seven rebounds, while Averett's Ryan Frazier was
the only other USA South player to score in double-figures
with 11 points. Greensboro's Theo Tamini led the team in
rebounding with a game-high 12 boards.
The ODAC was led by
Roanoke's Curtis Peery who registered a double-double of 12
points and 10 rebounds. Bridgewater's Rob Rice and Eastern
Mennonite's LeRoger Parrish were the ODAC's other
double-figure scorers as they each tallied 11 points.
Coleman,
who recently completed his
fourth season for head coach John Thompson in February,
was proud to represent his
Battling Bishops and play such a vital role in his league's
first victory. It's a fitting end to a solid career that saw
the former team captain tally 895 points and finished ranked
second all-time with 827 rebounds.
Congratulations
Adam!
