Golf's Stugis tabbed USA South Rookie of the Week

Fayetteville, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that freshman Ryan Stugis of men's golf has been tabbed the USA South's Rookie of the Week for April 9th. Stugis (pictured) led his Battling Bishops at this past weekend's Carolina Sands Intercollegiate with a team-low round of 76 (+4). This is his first award of the season.

Stugis is a native of Mission, British Columbia, Canada. The talented freshman currently leads Wesleyan with a stroke average of 78.7 over seven rounds. Thusfar in 2008, he has tallied one top-5 finish, two top-10 finishes, and two top-20 finishes.

Stugis and his Bishop teammates will wrap up their 2008 golf slate April 18-20 at the USA South Conference Tournament. The event will feature three rounds of play and will be held at the Stoney Creek Golf Club in Burlington, NC.
