WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT:
Former Bishop standout takes
softball talent overseas
Rocky
Mount, NC - Over
the past four seasons,
former Bishop Courtney
Tucker made a name for
herself as a standout player
for the North Carolina
Wesleyan softball program.
This past year alone, she
was a First Team USA South
All-Conference selection, a
Second Team All-Region
selection, and named her
squad's Most Valuable
Player. Additionally,
Tucker earned the
prestigious North Carolina
Wesleyan Female Athlete of
the Year award and was a USA
South nominee for NCAA Woman
of the Year.
It didn't
take long, however, for
Tucker
(pictured)
to make a
name for herself
elsewhere... specifically in
Cologne, Germany as a member
of the World Sport
International Stars Softball
Club.
Tucker
joined the Stars overseas
from July 19th to July 30th
to compete in the 19th
annual Apeledoorn Series.
Playing first base for the
U.S. squad, Tucker helped her
team to an undefeated
showing and first place
finish. Most
impressively, she led all
players with seven runs batted
in.
"It was
awesome," said Tucker. "I
give thanks to God, my
parents, and the NCWC family
for preparing me for this
experience. Go U.S.A!"
