WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT:  NCAA releases feature on Bishop soccer player Helen Lettieri

Rocky Mount, NC
- Sophomore Helen Lettieri of women's soccer is grabbing attention both at North Carolina Wesleyan and on a national level.  The native of Cairo, NY recently made her return to the Bishop sideline against all odds... after all, how many collegiate athletes can come back from cancer?  Her story, in fact, is so amazing that the
NCAA decided to feature her on their NCAAsports website.

The daughter of Mike and Joanne Lettieri, Helen (pictured right) first learned of her condition over Christmas break last season.  Just eight months and a successful surgery later, she surprised both her coach and teammates when she reported for practice in August.

Her courage and determination are serving as inspiration for everyone around her, and she is proud to represent Division III athletes on the NCAA website.  Please click the following link to read Helen's inspiring story... http://www.ncaasports.com/soccer/womens/story/10336736.
