Rich named NC Wesleyan's Assistant

The North Carolina Wesleyan
Department of Athletics is
pleased to announce that
Rikki Rich, Sports
Information Director and
Title IX Coordinator, will
be assuming the role of
Assistant Athletics Director
at the College. In addition
to her current duties, Rich
will be taking over
eligibility certification,
handling various NCAA forms
and compliance issues, and
coordinating the marketing
and contacts for the
Battling Bishops Club.

a very positive step for our
Department and one that will
aid all of our programs,”
said John Thompson, Vice
President, Athletics.
Rich came
to N.C. Wesleyan from The
University of North Carolina
at Pembroke, where she
served as Sports Information
Director, Senior Woman
Administrator and Assistant
Athletic Director for Media
Relations from 2003 to 2005.
She had previously received
her Bachelor of Science
degree in Mathematics at
UNCP in May of 2001, while
completing a minor in
Computer Science. A Cum
Laude graduate and
Chancellor’s Scholar, Rich
remained at UNCP and earned
her Master’s degree in
Mathematics Education in May
of 2003 before accepting a
permanent position with her
alma mater.
A Rocky
Mount native, Rich joined
the Battling Bishops in July
of 2005 as Sports
Information Director and was
named Title IX Coordinator
in the summer of 2007.
During her tenure at NCWC,
she has handled all media
needs for the College’s 13
varsity sports, including
design and maintenance of
the official athletics
website. Most recently, she
was named Chair of the USA
South Sports Information
Committee.
“I am
grateful for this
opportunity,” said Rich. “I
look forward to serving the
Department of Athletics in
this capacity and am excited
about the direction we are
headed.”
She and
her husband, Marcus, live in
Rocky Mount and have one
daughter: Addison, 2.
