Wesleyan
softball squad
to a sweep of
Chowan
University by
11-0 and 11-5
scores on the
road. Hardy's two
blasts gives her
seven on the
season and sets
a new program
record.
Libby Fulford
picked up both
wins in the
circle for the
Bishops, who
finish the
regular season
at 21-11
overall.
Wesleyan has now
posted
back-to-back
20-win seasons
for the first
time since 2001.
The first game
was called after
five innings as
Wesleyan
exploded for 11
runs.
Hardy led the
Bishop attack
with a 4-for-4
showing at the
plate, including
the two homers,
a triple, and
eight RBIs.
Ashlee Bass was
3-for-4 with a
double, and
Whitney Moshier
was 2-for-4 with
a triple.
Fulford tossed a
complete game
two-hit shutout.
The second game
went eight
innings, but
Wesleyan came
away with the
11-5 victory as
Fulford earned
the win in
relief.
She is now 15-7
on the season.
Hardy, Moshier,
and Payton
Gordon were all
went 3-for-4,
while
Courtney Tucker
went 2-for-4
with a homerun,
her sixth of the
year.
Wesleyan will now prepare for this
weekend's USA South Conference
Tournament. With a 7-7 league
record, Wesleyan will enter as the
#5 seed and take on #4 Peace on
Friday at 12:00 p.m. in Burlington. NCWC finished third at last year's
tournament.
