receive USA South postseason honors

- The USA South Athletic
Conference has announced its postseason awards for women's
basketball with a total of 26 athletes receiving
recognition. North Carolina Wesleyan and head coach John
Brackett are pleased to announce that junior Essence
Chambers (pictured) was tabbed a Second Team All-Conference
honoree, while freshman Gretchen Tobias was chosen to
represent the Bishops' on the league's inaugural
All-Sportsmanship squad.

Bishop women fall at
Greensboro in USA South First Round
Greensboro, NC
- The North Carolina Wesleyan women's basketball team saw
its 2007-08 season come to an end on Tuesday night, falling
to top-seeded Greensboro by a 89-51 score in USA South
Tournament First Round play. The Bishops end the season with
a 7-18 overall record, while the Pride advance to Friday's
semifinal action hosted by CNU.

Wesleyan suffers hoops sweep
to end regular season
Ferrum, VA
- In USA South women's basketball action, the Bishops of
North Carolina Wesleyan suffered a weekend sweep at the hands
of Averett and Ferrum by 61-43 and 78-68 scores,
respectively. With the two losses, Wesleyan finishes the
regular season with a 7-17 overall record and 4-14
conference mark. The Bishops, however, did qualify for
next week's conference tournament by securing one of the
10-team league's top eight slots.

Monarchs down Bishop women
on Senior Night, 63-45
Rocky Mount, NC
- North Carolina Wesleyan women's basketball team was unable
to overcome a nine-point halftime deficit on Monday night,
falling to USA South-leading Methodist University by a 63-45
score in Everett Gymnasium. The Monarchs improve to
17-6 overall, 13-3 in league play, while the Bishops drop to
7-15 on the season, 4-12 in conference action. Prior to the
game, head coach John Brackett recognized seniors Cheyenne
Hall and Shawnte Dickens (all pictured).

Second half run lifts Pride over Bishop women, 79-65
Rocky Mount, NC
- The women's basketball team of Greensboro College used an
11-2 run to start the second half to pull away from North
Carolina Wesleyan, earning a 79-65 victory over
the Bishops on Saturday in Everett Gymnasium. The Pride, who
owned a slim 35-31 lead at the break, improve to 14-7 with
the win and boast an 11-3 league record. Wesleyan drops to 7-14 overall, 4-11 in conference play.
Saturday served as Think Pink and Parent's Day for the
Bishops.
