Richardson paces Bishops at Raleigh Women's Invitational

Raleigh, NC - North Carolina Wesleyan's cross country squad returned to action on Saturday at the Raleigh Women's Invitational hosted by Meredith College. The 6K race was held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC. The Battling Bishops were led by junior Juliana Richardson (pictured), who turned in a time of 31:10 and 13th place finish among the 22 runners competing. 

In addition to Richardson, freshmen Lacey Bradley and Katie Sadowski also competed. Bradley finished 47 seconds behind Richardson to place 14th, while Sadowski finished 19th with a time of 37:38.

For their efforts in finishing among the top 15, Richardson and Bradley were named to the North Carolina All-State squad.

Salem College ran away with top team honors as Rachel Fichthorn earned medalist honors with a time of 24:40. The Spirits, in fact, took the top three positions. 

The Battling Bishops return to action on Thursday at Methodist University's Tri-Meet. The meet is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Fayetteville.
