Wesleyan runners wrap up season at USAC Championship

Greensboro, NC - The Battling Bishop women's cross country team of North Carolina Wesleyan wrapped its 2008 season on Saturday at the USA South Championship meet held at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro. The 6K race featured 72 runners, including Bishop participants Lacey Bradley, Juliana Richardson, and Katie Sadowksi. Bradley (pictured) paced Wesleyan with a time of 31:30 and 48th-place finish. The freshman was also NCWC's representative on the league's All-Sportsmanship team announced earlier in the week.

Richardson turned in a time of 32:31 to finish 56th, while Sadowski managed a time of 38:28 to place 68th. 

Christopher Newport University ran away with with the team championship as Runner of the Year Amy Wampler earned medalist honors with a time of 23:57. The Captains, in fact, took six of the top eight positions for 18 total points.

Shenandoah University finished second with 60 points, followed by Mary Baldwin, Meredith, Greensboro, Methodist, and Averett.  Ferrum, Peace, and NCWC failed to produce team scores.
