Bishops to sponsor First Annual
5K & Fun Run to benefit TS4A

The North Carolina
Wesleyan women's cross country program, under the
direction of head coach Dominic Modise, is pleased to
announce its plans to sponsor NCWC's First Annual 5K and
1-Mile Fun Run to benefit Tennis Shoes 4 Africa.
The February 21st race will feature a fast, flat course
that begins on campus and takes runners through the
adjacent Ford's Colony neighborhood. The cost is $25 to
participate in the 5K and $20 to participate in the Fun
Run. All proceeds go directly to TS4A.

Wesleyan runners wrap up season at
USAC
Championship

- The Battling
Bishop women's cross country team of
North Carolina Wesleyan wrapped its
2008 season on Saturday at the USA
South Championship meet held at
Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro. The
6K race featured 72 runners,
including Bishop participants Lacey
Bradley, Juliana Richardson, and
Katie Sadowksi. Bradley (pictured)
paced Wesleyan with a time of 31:30
and 48th-place finish. The freshman
was also NCWC's representative on
the league's All-Sportsmanship team
announced earlier in the week.

Richardson paces Bishops at Raleigh
Women's Invitational
Raleigh,
NC
- North Carolina Wesleyan's cross
country squad returned to action on
Saturday at the Raleigh Women's
Invitational hosted by Meredith
College. The 6K race was held at
WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC. The
Bishops were led by junior Juliana
Richardson (pictured), who turned in
a time of 31:10 and 13th place
finish among the 22 runners
competing.

Tobias breaks two records, paces
Bishops at PC Tri-Meet

- Sophomore Gretchen Tobias broke
two North Carolina Wesleyan cross
country records on Friday afternoon
as the Bishops competed in the Peace
Pacers 5K Tri-Meet held at WakeMed
Soccer Park in Raleigh.
Running in her first collegiate
meet, Tobias (pictured) turned in a
program-best time of 24:13 and a
record 5th-place finish among 18
runners. The Bishops finished third
overall.

Bishop runners break three records,
finish 3rd at Salem

- The North Carolina Wesleyan cross
country squad opened up its season
on Saturday morning, finishing third
among seven teams competing in the
2008 Salem College Invitational.
Freshman Lacey Bradley led the
Bishops by turning in the best
non-dual individual finish in
program history with a 5th-place
showing among the field of 31
runners. Bradley's time of 25:05 was
just three seconds off the program
record, while the team's 66 points
and third place finish both set new
program marks.
