Swartz named head tennis coach at NC Wesleyan

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Jacy Swartz has been named head coach of the Bishop men’s and women’s tennis programs.  Prior to joining the Bishop coaching staff, Swartz served as head tennis pro at Ford's Colony Sports Club (formerly Belmont Farms Racquet & Fitness Club).

A native of Fort Pierce, FL, Swartz's tennis career began at an early age.  She competed in numerous junior tournaments, held state and sectional rankings, and earned four varsity letters at John Carroll High School before receiving an athletic scholarship to Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC.  During her four-year collegiate career with the Crusaders, Swartz led her team to a conference championship as a freshman and later served as captain during her senior year.

Swartz earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Belmont Abbey in May of 2002.  She then returned to Florida where she worked as a tennis instructor at numerous tennis clubs along the east coast. She made the return to North Carolina in August of 2004 and began her tenure with Belmont Farms.

Said Swartz, “I hope that my tennis experiences and background will contribute to helping my players be as good as they can be.  I want them to enjoy their college tennis experience, the game itself, and get the most they can out of the game.”

In addition to her coaching duties, Swartz will serve as an admissions counselor for the College.
