BBC Mission Statement: The mission of the Battling Bishops Club (BBC), formally known as the North Carolina Wesleyan College Athletic Association (NCWCAA), is to provide direct support to the North Carolina Wesleyan College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through fundraising, marketing, and promotions. The BBC seeks to organize the efforts and contributions of alumni, parents, businesses, and friends of North Carolina Wesleyan in the promotion and enhancement of the College through the athletic program. Gifts made to the BBC will help the college provide all current student-athletes with a quality athletic experience, spark interest and pride in Wesleyan athletics, and encourage the future attendance of outstanding student-athletes. Who Can Join? Membership to the BBC is open to all alumni, friends of the college, or businesses that has an interest in supporting Wesleyans athletic program. All contributors to Wesleyan athletics that meet the pre-established minimum giving level will become members of the BBC. Why are there two types of membership? There are two different types of memberships: individual memberships and corporate/ business memberships. The main difference in memberships is in the type of benefits received with each. The main benefit of corporate/ business memberships are advertising privileges. All gifts to the BBC go to the support of student-athletes How long does my membership last? Annual memberships run from June 1 through May 31 (the Colleges fiscal year). What athletic teams/ programs benefit from my membership contribution? All teams/ programs benefit from BBC contributions. Members have the option of designating their membership contribution to the athletic team/program of their choice, the combination of athletic teams/ programs of their choice, or they may designate their contribution to benefit all athletic programs. Intercollegiate Athletics at NC Wesleyan NC Wesleyan is a member of the USA South Conference that competes nationally at the NCAA Division III level in 13 sports, including: mens and womens basketball, tennis, and soccer, as well as mens golf, football, baseball and womens lacrosse, volleyball, softball, and cross-country.
