BBC Endowments
In 2005-2006 the BBC received three new endowments. The BBC’s first ever endowment is the Roger G. Taylor Legacy Fund. This was started with a $10,000 gift made in honor of Roger Taylor by the AXA Foundation. Taylor, who graduated from Wesleyan in 1970, was Wesleyan’s first All-American athlete and currently serves as the Chair of the BBC.
The second endowment, known as the Lloyd Nelson BBC Endowment was started by another of Wesleyan’s all-time greatest athletes. Lloyd Nelson, a 1967 graduate and chair of the Athletics Committee on the Board of Trustees, started the Lloyd Nelson BBC Endowment. Annual interest earnings on both of these endowments will support the entire athletic program.
The last endowment received in 2005 is the Moe Bauer Baseball Endowment. This endowment fund, based on the wishes of the Bauer family, is a memorial to Dr. Raymond E. (Moe) Bauer, one of the beloved founding fathers of Wesleyan who served in roles as Athletic Director, Academic Dean, Academic Chair, teacher, and coach. Coach Bauer passed away on June 24, 2005. Annual interest earnings will benefit the baseball program that was founded by Coach Bauer.
We encourage you to consider making gifts towards these endowments All three represent outstanding people and Wesleyan faithful. The endowments will remain as a permanent fixture of the BBC and you may earmark your gift (or part of your gift) to any of these great endowments. |
