is not offered at this time. For this reason, the requirements for this
major/minor are not provided; however, the following courses will remain
available for interested students and those completing general education
requirements.

- MUS 101 Music Appreciation 3 SH
- An introduction to musical understanding, designed for students who
have had little or no previous contact with the art. Perspective is
developed through an examination of musical elements, styles, forms, and
literature.

- MUS 171 Wesleyan Singers 1 SH
- The Wesleyan Singers is a choral ensemble open to all students with
an interest in vocal performance. The group's repertoire includes a
variety of material from various eras.

- MUS 185 Instrumental Ensemble 1 SH

The instrumental ensemble is open to all students
who play traditional band instruments. The style of music performed will
vary in accordance with available instrumentation.

- MUS 195-01 Music Reading and Basic Theory 3 SH

An introduction to reading and notating music, including a basic
understanding of the theory of music composition.

- MUS 195-02 History of Jazz 3 SH

This is a survey course designed to introduce students to the jazz genre
of music through listening, video, research, and lecture.
