Calculators, Testing, and Scoring Procedures Calculators Students are expected to bring their own calculators. Graphing calculators (TI-82, TI-83, TI-83+, TI-86, or equivalent) are permitted, but calculators that solve algebraic systems (TI-89 and TI-92) are not permitted. Testing The examination will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions with five possible answers each. Contestants will have 80 minutes to complete the test. Each contestant will work independently. Students are encouraged to bring their own pencils, but some will be available for students use. Scoring Procedures The contestant's score will be determined by counting the number of correct responses, multiplying the total by 4, and adding the number of blank responses to that total. In case of a tie, select problems will be used to determine the winner. |
