Room
Deposit
All new residents are required to submit a $100 property damage deposit with a housing application. This deposit is not applied to the student’s room charge but serves as a continuing property damage deposit. Students must notify the Office of Residence Life they will not be returning, either due to graduation or withdrawal, in order to receive a refund of the room damage deposit. Designated deadlines are announced for the fall and spring semesters when students must notify Residence Life they will not return to the College. Upon meeting necessary requirements the student’s deposit is refunded, less any room repair assessments or other financial obligations to the College. New students who cancel their room assignment reservation for the academic year after July 15 forfeit the housing deposit.
Returning Student Room Selection Process
The room selection process provides a priority system for the selection of residence hall rooms and roommates for the next academic year. Students who withdraw their housing applications in writing prior to June 15 receive refunds of their Room Deposit. The Room Deposit is forfeited after July 15.
New Students
Once you have been accepted to the College, you will receive a packet of information that includes a housing application and contract. The application and office copy of the contract need to be returned as soon as possible in the envelope provided. If you need an application and do not have one, please contact us at one of the sources on the Residence Life main page.
Room assignments for new students are done in mid-July. Assignments are made based on the information provided on the application and are done in the order that applications and deposits are received. The later the housing application is submitted, the less likely you will receive your first choice of residence hall or roommate.
