Students make group presentationsThe NCWC General Education program prepares students for pursuing a major, for broadening their views of life and for understanding in an increasingly global and diverse world.  It provides students with the basic skills and intellectual perspectives to engage in the search for knowledge.  Moreover, the General Education program develops analytical skills, critical thinking skills, appreciation of the arts, research, and the ability to make reasoned judgments.

To ensure the effectiveness of the General Education program, student progress is assessed in the following six areas:

  1. Written Communication 
  2. Computer Skills
  3. Mathematical Reasoning
  4. Science Reasoning
  5. Oral Communications
  6. Critical Thinking
